The 21st century’s natural disease

Since medical writer Galen termed aging a natural process, in the second century AD, the notion was hardly revisited. Today, however, a growing number of scientists and bioethicists commit themselves to the idea that aging, if it is natural—as are cholera, Covid-19 and smallpox—is not a beneficial process to either living organisms or civilizations.
